History of Domaine La Martine and its winemakers

A shared adventure
We are Bruno and Ilse, a couple guided by respect for life, the land, and the pursuit of excellence — and proud parents of three children: Milan, Simon, and Emma.
Our journey began well before viticulture, in the 1990s, through food production and international cooperation projects, particularly in Central America. These experiences instilled in us a commitment to quality, a sustainable vision, and a deep sense of dedication.
In 2021, captivated by the beauty, history, and soul of Domaine La Martine, in the heart of the Limoux region and Cathar Country, we chose to embark on a new winemaking adventure. Inspired by the vision of Michel and Monique Louison, founders of the estate and pioneers of organic viticulture on the site, we continue their work today, combining respect for the terroir, expertise, and a constant pursuit of quality.
Through our wines, tastings, and the experiences we offer at the estate, we invite you to discover a sincere story — one shaped by the land, respect for nature, and our love for winemaking. time, nature and a passion for wine.
A couple - A passion

Bruno
Passionate Winemaker
Owner
As a winemaker, every day spent in the vineyards and the cellar is a true passion for me.
My background in the food industry and my experience as an agricultural engineer led me to explore many aspects of production, but here at Domaine La Martine, I found my calling.
Each bottle I produce reflects our unique terroir and my commitment to creating authentic and characterful wines.
My goal is to capture the essence of this land and convey it through our wines, so that with every tasting, you can feel a little of the passion and care I put into this craft.

Ambassador for Wines and the Territory
As a wine enthusiast with a strong background in biology and teaching, I discovered a true calling in selling our wines.
At Domaine La Martine, my goal is simple: to share the authenticity and exceptional nature of our wines with our customers.
Each encounter is an opportunity for me to share the history of our estate and the passion that drives us. I strive to offer a unique tasting experience, guiding each client through our terroir and the subtleties of our wines.
Introducing people to these exceptional products is more than just a job for me—it's a true mission.

History of Domaine La Martine
Domaine La Martine is a place shaped by time and by those who have brought it to life over the centuries. Some parts of its buildings date back to the 13th century, testifying to a long agricultural and winemaking tradition.
The tradition of winemaking has been documented here since 1720, placing the estate in the history of the Limoux region and the Cathar Country.
Today, true to its heritage, Domaine La Martine continues its evolution while respecting the soul of the place, the terroir and the rhythm of nature, between memory and renewal.
This story can also be discovered through our tastings, offered in the heart of the restored old vats, in the Codex space of La Martine, where the wine engages in dialogue with the place and time.

Our vision
Building on this history, our vision grows from a deep respect for the land, for nature, and for time itself. We care for our vineyards with sustainable practices, convinced that biodiversity and a balanced ecosystem are at the heart of every wine we create.
Each vintage reflects our sincere interpretation of the Cathar Country and Limoux region, where winemaking tradition meets precision and creative freedom, and where we strive to share the spirit of a living, authentic estate.
